For musicians and music lovers the Jazz Hall of Fame in Birmingham, Alabama merits a visit. It’s a warm and wonderful tribute to some of Alabama’s finest jazz musicians.
It will envoke nostalgia if you grew up listening to Duke Ellington and Nat King Cole. You get to see flyers, set lists, photographs and a host of other memorabilia all tastefully on display.
You can breeze through it all in a matter of 10 minutes if you don’t opt to avail of a guided tour. Guided tours are available but they will cost you extra but they are worth the extra dollars.
The museum sits inside the Carver Theater which is a warm and quaint music venue. Plan your trip and you can catch a gig while you are there. They also offer offer free music lessons every Sunday.
