What is Free-Attractions.com?
Free-Attractions.com is a free service provided by BasketThemes, LLC.  It is our desire to provide easy access to information to those searching the web.  Free-Attractions.com is the only place on the web that lists nothing but free attractions and events for all 50 United States.  This site serves as a valuable resource for teachers looking for field trip ideas, families looking for free activities for the weekend, travel planners, and many others.

 Can I list my attraction or event with Free-Attractions.com?

Yes!  We list all free attractions or event at no charge.  Your attraction or event only needs to meet certain criteria:

1. Your attraction or event must cost nothing to visit with no strings attached.  We also list sites that are free only on certain days of the week/month.  Please specify when when your attraction is free.
2. Your attraction cannot be linked to paid admission to another attraction.
3. Your attraction must be a museum, park, exhibit, festival, parade, etc.  We do not list restaurants or shopping malls.
4. We reserve the right to deny or approve the listing of any attraction.  We also reserve the right to remove any attraction from our directory for any reason.
5. If you meet the above criteria, contact us with your attraction information.

  How much does it cost to list my free attraction or event?

Nothing.  We list all free attractions and events at no charge.  Contact us to list your free attraction.

What does ‘free attraction’ really mean?
A ‘free attraction’ is a museum, park, parade, or festival that charges the public nothing for admission.  The attraction may be free for one day of the week or month – this fact will be clearly noted.  It is important to note that many of these attractions are free because of generous donations from the public.  Please do what you can to support these attractions.

 Why isn’t my city or town listed in your directory?

There may be several reasons why your town isn’t listed in our directory.  Usually the reason is simply because no free attractions were known at the time of publication.  If you know of any free attractions in your town please contact us.

Do you have a listing of pay attractions?

We are currently working on such a listing.  This new site will be published on the World Wide Web in the coming months.

 Why don’t you list shopping malls or restaurants?

Mostly out of editorial opinion, we feel that shopping malls and restaurants cannot be labeled ‘free.’

 I have found an error on your site, what should I do?

Please contact us with the pertinent information.  We take great pride in providing accurate information, and we correct inaccuracies as soon as possible.

Why don’t you have 'pop-up' advertisements on your site?

Without question, pop-up advertisements prevent the public from fully enjoying the Internet.  We feel that the Internet should be pleasant and easy to use.  While we do understand the financial needs of websites to employ pop-ups, we will not participate in this custom.

 How do I advertise on your site?

You can advertise directly on our site by contacting us with your request.  

 What can I do to support attractions or events in my area that are free?

Our parks and museums are seriously under funded.  There are many ways to help support local area attractions that charge no admission.  Here are just a few examples of what you can do:

1. Give a direct donation.  
2. Volunteer – many museums and parks function solely by the work of volunteers
3. Tell your government officials how your local museum or park desperatley needs public funding.
